As part of the Interpersonal Dynamics and Character Building (IDCB) course, students from the Architecture Department organized a community outreach project entitled “Visiting an Orphanage” on 18 June 2026 at the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs. The project aimed to support orphaned children by providing essential daily necessities, including milk bottles, toothbrushes, toothpaste, wet wipes, and other basic hygiene and childcare supplies.
The initiative sought not only to meet some of the children’s immediate needs but also to promote awareness of the challenges faced by children who grow up without parental care. Through meaningful interaction and acts of kindness, the project encouraged compassion, empathy, and a shared sense of responsibility toward vulnerable members of society.
This project aligns with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:
 ● SDG 1: No Poverty
 ● SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being
 ● SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities
 ● SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions
 ● SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals
Throughout the project, students worked collaboratively to plan, organize, and successfully carry out every stage of the initiative. The experience emphasized essential values such as social responsibility, teamwork, leadership, empathy, sustainability, and community service, while providing students with the opportunity to apply the interpersonal and character-building skills developed through the IDCB course in a real-world setting.
By the end of the project, students gained valuable insights into the importance of serving the community and supporting those in need. The experience strengthened their understanding of teamwork, sustainable development, social responsibility, and civic engagement, while demonstrating how collective efforts and compassionate actions can create a meaningful and lasting impact on the lives of others.
