On Thursday, 18 June 2026, students from the Architecture Engineering Department at Tishk International University organized a community service initiative titled “Planting Trees in Schools” at Shahed Fakhir Mergasori High School as part of the Interpersonal Dynamics and Character Building (IDCB) course.
Working collaboratively, the students planted trees across the school grounds to create a greener, healthier, and more welcoming learning environment. The activity also encouraged environmental awareness among students and staff while highlighting the importance of protecting natural resources and expanding green spaces within educational institutions.
Beyond improving the school’s landscape, the project provided Architecture students with an opportunity to apply the interpersonal and leadership skills developed through the IDCB course. Throughout the initiative, they demonstrated teamwork, communication, responsibility, and a strong commitment to serving the community.
The project contributed to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities and SDG 13: Climate Action, reflecting the University’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and civic engagement.
Through this initiative, students gained valuable hands-on experience in community service while reinforcing the importance of environmental responsibility and sustainable development. Tishk International University commends the participating students for their dedication to creating a positive and lasting impact within the community.
