Tishk International University and Erbil Polytechnic University hosted the 3rd International Engineering Conference on Development in Civil & Computer Engineering Applications on February 26 and 27, 2017. The aim of the conference was to disseminate research findings and provide a platform for scholars to debate and exchange ideas on the developments in the field of engineering. The conference proceedings will be indexed by Google Scholar Databases and each paper will have DOI number. Furthermore, the conference provides our graduate students a chance to establish communication with experienced researchers in order to discuss their current work as well as to be engaged in future research topics, and new opportunities.
Dr. Hans J. Hoyer was one of the keynote speakers in the conference. He presented a seminar to the students of the Engineering Faculty that was titled as “Contemporary Approaches to Engineering Education in Developing Countries” that was organized in collaboration with IFEES (International Federation of Engineering Education Societies) and GEDC (The Global Engineering Deans Council), which were both represented by Dr. Hans J. Hoyer as a Secretary General of IFEES, and an Executive Secretary of GEDC.
Dr. Hans J. Hoyer, during his seminar, encouraged the public relations of universities in general, and the deans of engineering colleges from different universities to always share expertise and programs together, and the importance of these relations to both Kurdistan, as a developing region on one hand, and IFEES and GEDC on the other hand, as it would grow internationally with its branches in different countries and grow their impact in the field.
Dr. Hoyer ended his seminar by making sure to inform the students that he would always reply each email he receives, and how he should be contacted if any of the students needed any help or had any questions.
