On February 2, 2020, an Internal Seminar entitled “Influence of the printing parameters on the properties of PLA parts produced by fused filament fabrication” was presented within the Mechatronics Engineering Department by the Assistant Lecturer Ms. Rasha Alkabbanie.

The seminar started with an introduction about the 3d printing definition, technologies, applications and advantages. Then a research plan was proposed. The research aimed at studying the influence of the printing parameters namely; the Extrusion Temperature, the Layer Height, the Feed Rate, and the Raster Angle- on the Tensile Properties, the Compression Properties, the Hardness Properties, the Surface Roughness Properties, the Shear Properties, the Flexural Properties, the Electrical Conductivity Properties, and the Water Absorption Properties of the printed parts. The problem statement and the research significance was discussed. Also the planned experimental procedures were presented.
