The Department of Mechatronics Engineering, in collaboration with the Department of Information Technology and the International Relations Office, organized a Student Exchange Program Workshop on October 13, 2025, and October 22, 2025. The event brought together students interested in exploring international study opportunities and gaining insights into cultural adaptation and academic growth abroad. The workshop began with welcoming remarks from Dr. Jaafer Hussein, Director of IRO, who underlined the importance of global engagement and encouraged students to take advantage of the exchange programs available through TIU’s international partnerships.

Faculty members enriched the discussion with talks on personal development and cultural acceptance. Dr. Taha Basheer emphasized the value of stepping outside one’s comfort zone. Adding to these academic insights, one returning exchange student shared his personal experiences, reflecting on the challenges he faced, the opportunities he embraced, and the ways in which studying abroad shaped his academic and personal life.

To ensure students left with clear next steps, Dr. Rand Alhashimie presented detailed information about upcoming exchange opportunities, including eligibility requirements and the application process. The program concluded with a lively Q&A session, where students were able to engage directly with the speakers and clarify their concerns.

The second session of the workshop was held on October 22, 2025, to announce the names of the selected students among all the applicants. The students’ selection was based on the available programs, the students’ interests, and their GPA.
Then the application process for the exchange programme was described, and a live Q&A session was held to answer all the students’ concerns related to the programme and what they are expecting to experience during the programme. Another session is scheduled to be held before the students travel to their host universities.
