On January 27, 2026, Tishk International University (TIU) hosted a gathering in support of the Kurdish citizens residing in Rojawa, and the Mechatronics Engineering Department proudly took part in this meaningful initiative.
Rojawa, located in north-eastern Syria, is a region predominantly inhabited by Kurdish communities. In recent years, the region has faced ongoing humanitarian, economic, and security challenges, with its people continuing to demonstrate resilience in the face of uncertainty and hardship. Despite difficult conditions, the spirit of solidarity, cultural identity, and perseverance remains strong among its citizens.
Through its participation in the university-wide gathering, the Mechatronics Engineering Department stood alongside the TIU community in expressing unity, compassion, and support for the people of Rojawa. The event reflected the department’s belief that engineering education extends beyond technical knowledge—it also carries a responsibility toward human values, social awareness, and standing with communities in times of need.
By joining this initiative, the department reaffirmed its commitment to fostering socially conscious engineers who are not only innovators and problem-solvers, but also engaged and empathetic members of society.
