On the 9th of December, 2026, the Mechatronics Department successfully hosted an Orientation Day for new UG1 students, designed to welcome them into the department and provide a clear introduction to university life and academic expectations.
During the event, students were introduced to the department’s aims, objectives, and academic vision, as well as the teaching and support staff: Dr. Ezideen Hasso, Dr. Qasim Alubaidy, Dr. Rand Al Hashime, Mr. Qusay H, Ms. Sara Serwer, RA Shoxan, and RA Abdulrahman. This allowed students to become familiar with the people who will support and guide them throughout their studies.
The orientation included detailed guidance on how the university operates, how students should approach their lessons, coursework, and assessments, and the academic standards expected within the department. Students were also given a practical overview of the student information system, helping them understand how to manage registrations, schedules, and academic records effectively.
The session concluded in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, where students and staff enjoyed light snacks and refreshments, giving everyone an opportunity to connect, ask informal questions, and begin building a strong sense of community within the department.
