Site Engineers Connect Classroom Theory to Practical Applications

Civil Engineering’s second-grade students and lecturers recently attended an enlightening visit to the Qaiwan Mirador engineering project site. The group learned useful information about the project’s engineering standards, safety precautions, and real-world applications of their building construction coursework under the direction of Site Manager Engineer Mohammed Ismail and Site Engineer Ayub Mohammed.

The visit to Qaiwan Mirador demonstrated the importance of connecting classroom theory to practical experiences, as students observed firsthand the concepts they had studied in the Building Construction Course. They were impressed by the project’s quality and the engineering team’s commitment to safety.

Engaging with the site engineers, the students explored the complexities of managing a large-scale project and the importance of collaboration and high standards in quality and safety. The visit reinforced the significance of the practical knowledge gained in their theoretical classes.

This successful visit strengthened the bond between academia and the engineering sector, highlighting the value of real-world experiences for students. The organization of field trips for students by the Civil Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering at Tishk International University is regarded as crucial in bridging the gap between theoretical concepts taught in class and real-world experiences.
