Scientific Trip to Ruby Tower

On May 3rd, 2023, a group of 22 students from the Civil Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering at Tishk International University, visited the Ruby Tower construction site as part of a scientific trip organized by the faculty. The purpose of this trip was to provide students with an opportunity to observe and learn about the construction process of a high-rise building.

Upon arrival, the students were given a brief introduction to the project by the project manager. The students were then divided into smaller groups and were taken on a tour of the site. During the tour, the students were able to observe the various stages of construction, including the foundation work, structural framing, and installation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. The students were also able to interact with the construction workers and ask them questions about their work and experiences. Students observed various construction techniques, including the use of cranes, scaffolding, and other heavy machinery. They were also able to observe the different materials used in construction, such as concrete, steel, and glass. The students were particularly interested in the safety measures taken at the site, such as the use of hard hats, safety harnesses, and safety nets.

The scientific trip to Ruby Tower was an excellent opportunity for the Civil Engineering students to gain practical knowledge about the construction process of a high-rise building. It also allowed them to observe and interact with construction workers, which gave them a better understanding of the challenges and rewards of working in the construction industry.

The Department of Civil Engineering ensures to organize similar scientific trips for students in the future, as they provide valuable learning experiences that cannot be replicated in a classroom setting.
