Seminar on Female Engineers at Construction Site
The Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering at Tishk International University organized a seminar entitled: Female Engineers at Construction Site, held on March 8th, 2022. The seminar’s welcome speech was presented by Dr. Jwan Jalal, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering. Dr. Kafia Mawlood, Eng. Sana Idrees and Eng. Hataw Abdullah also presented during the first session, in which they discussed the difficulties female engineers face at work and in the civil engineering industry.
The presenters further talked about ways to facilitate work for women and ensure women’s perspectives reach this traditionally male-dominated field.
During the second session, a certification ceremony was held in which the top three students of each grade were awarded certifications for their significant achievements, and plaques of appreciation were awarded to speakers and organizers of the seminar.
Seminar Outcome:
1. Presenting the difficulties female engineers face at the engineering site and finding solutions to decrease these
difficulties.
2. Encouraging female workers in the industry to maintain their hard work and fight against gender-based differences and difficulties at work.
3. Discuss and share solutions for difficulties females face as civil engineers and how to overcome these barriers.
