Civil Engineering Department Attends DAAD Science Communication Workshop
The Civil Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering at Tishk International University (TIU) is pleased to announce that the Head of Department will be participating in a comprehensive two-day workshop on science communication. The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) officially organised this event, which was conducted from May 19th to May 20th, 2024. The event took place under the expert guidance Mohammad Elsonbaty, a renowned trainer and medical journalist.
Nadine Tatge, the Ta’ziz Programme Officer at the DAAD Regional Office in Amman, and Jwan Khalis, the Programme Coordinator at the DAAD Information Point in Erbil, coordinated the workshop. It attracted participants from a variety of universities in Iraq, thereby cultivating an environment that was conducive to the exchange of knowledge and the development of collaborative opportunities.
This workshop is a privilege that has been extended to institutions that have successfully secured DAAD projects, and we are honoured to have been invited as a department. The workshop offered invaluable insights into the effective communication of scientific research to the broader community through a variety of media channels. Attendees acquired practical skills in the application of their scientific knowledge to benefit society. Additionally, the event created substantial networking opportunities, which could lead to future collaborations with esteemed professors and other universities.
This enriching experience not only improved our comprehension of science communication but also fortified our relationships within the academic community, indicating promising opportunities for future collaborative endeavours.
