In February, the Erbil Stones and Gems Museum hosted 2nd Grade students of Civil Engineering department, Tishk International University. Roughly 47 students and two Tishk International University staff members visited the Museum in citadel, center of Erbil city. The trip was a good opportunity to the students to see different kind of stones or rocks and gems. Museum staff led the students inside the museum and presented a brief explanation about each kind. Third Stage Had A Scientific Trip

On 13th of February Civil engineering dept. organized a scientific trip to Taq Taq Arch Action Bridge which is made of concrete, third year students were targeted in this trip. Supervision was held by Dr. Ibrahim Hassan Azez lecturer of structural analysis course. The main purpose of the trip to show the practical part of the structure analysis course. First Grade Students Visited Four Story Hospital

Civil Engineering first grade students visited four story hospital construction with lecturer Cemil Akdeniz and Mariwan Hussain. The project is constructed by RAQ Construction and Building Maintenance Company. The construction costs 18 million dollars with medical equipment. Our alumni Shayma Omar presented a speech about Introduction to Civil Engineering in generally to freshmen students of our department. During the seminar Mrs.Shayma talked about the stages that she passed through and motivated them to study hard in their field because nowadays sciences become more widely. She indicated that being optimistic is one of the key successes in life. Civil Engineering department organized second workshop on January 15, 2017 at 14:00 in room 215. The workshop chaired by Mss. Rasha Alkabbani coordinator of quality management system. As it is known CE program had started a journey for getting accreditation from a German Institution Zeva. The self-report evaluated by the expert from Zeva Institution. Experts have requested from CE department to prepare explanations regarding their evaluation report. After a hard discussion among teaching staff the explanation report prepared and submitted to experts.

The German engineering company AJG has given the Faculty of Engineering the opportunity to send its students to Munich, Germany. There are two cases that the company is proposing. Case 1 is sending 2 students to Germany during the summer of 2017 for an internship. Case 2 is sending 8-12 students on a study trip for one week. Deputy Prime Minister Rewarded Our Students

KRG Initiative for Internship Program under the management the Deputy Prime Minister Office organized the 3rd Certification Ceremony for the student who took place in internship program. The program was held at Sa’ad Abdullah Conference Hall on 15th of December 2016. In the third year program, 320 students from 30 companies were accepted for the internship program that was conducted in 15 universities. Tishk International University participated in the program with 51 students from 5 different departments. Civil Engineering Department organized a workshop entitled by Departmental Strategic Plan regarding short, mid and long term. Prof. Dr. Bayan Salim chaired the workshop and presented topics which were beneficial in setting goals of the department. Presented topics opened an intensive discussion among teaching staff. Finally, valuable comments were added and a future plan for CE had prepared. Tishk International University’s Academic and ZEvA Agency’s Delegate held a seminar concerning the international accreditation issues at 18.30 on October 04, 2016. The interest in the program was so high. The Erbil Governor, the representatives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the other Ministries, Presidents of the KRG Universities, Deans of Colleges, Heads of Departments, Lecturers, and Academics were ready.
