21 June 2026 – Tishk International University

The Civil Engineering Department at Tishk International University successfully organized the BIM Revit Structure Design Competition on 21 June 2026, providing students with an opportunity to demonstrate their structural engineering and Building Information Modeling (BIM) skills through a practical design challenge.

The competition challenged participants to independently design a hybrid structural system, consisting of a fully reinforced concrete building with a steel roof structure. Students were encouraged to develop their own structural concepts, apply engineering principles, and create complete structural models using Autodesk Revit Structure. The event aimed to enhance students’ technical abilities while promoting creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving in real-world structural design scenarios.

Throughout the competition, participants experienced the challenges faced by structural engineers, including selecting appropriate structural systems, coordinating reinforced concrete and steel elements, and ensuring the overall efficiency and constructability of their designs. The event also highlighted the importance of BIM workflows in modern engineering practice.

After careful evaluation by the judging panel, Kavi Omer achieved First Place (Top 1) for delivering an outstanding structural design that demonstrated technical accuracy, innovation, and effective implementation of BIM methodologies. The winning project showcased a well-integrated reinforced concrete structural system combined with an efficiently designed steel roof, reflecting both engineering knowledge and practical design skills.

The Civil Engineering Department congratulates all participants for their dedication and enthusiasm. The competition reflects the department’s commitment to providing hands-on learning experiences that prepare students for professional practice and encourage the adoption of modern digital engineering technologies such as BIM in structural design.
