A scientific trip was organized on the 30th of April 2019. By the Civil Engineering Department to Waziran Neighborhood. Students of the second class participated. Students were accompanied by the Lecturer: Mr. Essam Zebary, Mr. Twana Ahmad, Mr. Halmat Moslih, Mr. Razhan Shahab, Mr. Yousif Mahmood. The teaching staff of the department and the students were welcomed by the director of the Projects.

 

The main objectives for the site visiting were:

  • Experiencing and learning more about the construction site environment that will face them after graduation and entering the construction industry.
  • Understanding the importance of safety and notes that should be taken before entering to a construction site for the accidents that may happen there.
  • Learning about the basic process of construction by observing a real example of working space, plus observing and comparing topics taught by lecturers at university.
  • More understanding about construction technology of buildings and different methods of constructing, plus exploring and identifying different types of building materials.
  • Giving chance to students for learning about different types of machinery and their uses by observing, such as concrete mixer, crane, bar cutting machine, etc.
  • Helping students for better understanding of construction drawings and detail.
  • Asking questions from supervisors and people working at the construction site to gain more information and learn from their experiences.
