Collaborative Initiative

The Civil Engineering Department of Tishk International University, in partnership with the University of Sulaimani and Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, organized an international workshop titled “Toward Advancing Seismic Risk Mitigation in Kurdistan and Iraq” on January 7, 2025. The event was held at the College of Engineering, University of Sulaimani.

Workshop Significance

This groundbreaking event marked the completion of the DAAD-funded project “Towards Earthquake Mitigation in Iraq: EMS-98 Adopted Vulnerability Assessment of Existing Buildings.” The workshop showcased significant achievements in seismic resilience and established foundations for future innovations in earthquake risk mitigation.
