On Tuesday, October 29, 2024, the Civil Engineering Department at Tishk International University (TIU) held a warm “Welcome Back” ceremony for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th-grade students as they returned to campus. The event was a joyful start to the new semester, bringing together students with their professors, lecturers, and classmates.
The ceremony began with an enthusiastic welcoming speech from the Head of the Civil Engineering Department, Dr. Barham Haydar. Afterward, Ms. Bnar and Mr. Mohammed shared updates on the Dean of Students (DOS) activities, upcoming plans, and student clubs.
Two of our successful graduates, Eng. Mardin and Eng. Zheela, who are currently working on-site, gave an inspiring talk. They encouraged students to study hard, stay active, and take their studies seriously.
The ceremony concluded with Prof. Dr. Bayan, Dr. Thamir, and Dr. Yousif awarding the top three students from each grade for their hard work. Everyone then enjoyed a cake specially prepared for the celebration, wrapping up the event on a sweet note.
The Civil Engineering Department is excited to welcome students back and wishes everyone a successful year ahead.
