Tishk International University (TIU) has achieved a historic milestone in international professional recognition, establishing the Civil Engineering Department as a premier gateway for global engineering careers.
Currently, TIU stands as the one of the university in all of Iraq whose Civil Engineering program is officially recognized and listed by the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) in the United Kingdom. This distinction allows our graduates to meet the full educational base required for ICE Membership (MICE) and to go to enter the exam so that can be registered as a Chartered Engineer (CEng) without the requirement of additional academic credits.
This level of academic parity extends to the United States through NCEES, where the TIU curriculum is meticulously aligned with the standards required for professional licensure. While graduates from other Iraqi institutions typically face significant “credit gaps” and must spend 12 to 24 months taking extra courses, TIU graduates pass these evaluations with zero missing credits. This efficiency allows our alumni to register for the FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) Exam immediately upon graduation. By bypassing these time-consuming and financial burdens, TIU graduates are uniquely positioned for immediate professional advancement.
Furthermore, TIU’s commitment to international quality is so well-established that our department now serves as a regional hub where graduates from other Iraqi universities come to fulfill their missing credit requirements for NCEES. This achievement is the culmination of a decade-long journey of excellence, rooted in our ZeVA accreditation (2016) and our ASIIN accreditation (2025). At TIU, we remain dedicated to the spirit of lifelong learning, ensuring that our graduates do not just receive a degree, but a “global passport” to practice their profession with excellence on any stage in the world.
