On January 15, 2026, the Civil Engineering Department at Tishk International University organized an essential orientation seminar for first-grade students, presented by Mr. Halmat Muslih. The session was designed to guide new students through the university’s academic regulations and prepare them for their first experience with midterm examinations.

Transitioning from high school to university life can be challenging, particularly regarding academic expectations. Mr. Halmat provided a comprehensive overview of the examination process, offering practical advice on how to prepare for and navigate the upcoming midterm exams effectively.

A significant portion of the seminar was dedicated to the TIU Student Handbook. Mr. Halmat walked the students through critical sections of the handbook, specifically focusing on:

  • Student Rights and Responsibilities: ensuring students understand what they are entitled to and what the university expects of them.

  • Disciplinary Guidelines: As seen in the presentation slides, detailed explanations were given regarding Article 5 of the disciplinary code, including the consequences of academic dishonesty and cheating.

  • Authorized Materials: Clear instructions were provided on what materials are permitted inside examination halls to ensure a smooth and fair testing environment.

The seminar provided an interactive platform for first-grade students to ask questions and clarify doubts, ensuring they feel confident and informed as they approach their assessment period. The Civil Engineering Department remains committed to supporting student success through academic guidance and mentorship.

We wish all our first-grade students the best of luck in their upcoming midterms!
