Educational Field Visit
On April 10, 2025, second-grade Civil Engineering students from Tishk International University participated in an educational field visit to the Erbil Construction Laboratory. This visit was organized as part of their practical training curriculum in civil engineering materials testing and served as an official activity of the Tishk International University – American Concrete Institute (ACI) Student Chapter.
Hands-On Learning Experience
During the site visit, students engaged with various standard laboratory testing procedures for essential construction materials, including:
• Concrete strength and durability testing
• Aggregate quality assessment
• Reinforcement bar specifications
• Soil analysis and classification
The experience provided valuable insights into quality control measures, safety standards, and material specification protocols used in professional engineering practice.
Organizational Recognition
The Civil Engineering Department extends sincere appreciation to:
• Ms. Payam Ismael for outstanding organizational efforts
• Mr. Mohammed Mahmood for exceptional facilitation of the visit
Their contributions were instrumental in creating an informative and impactful learning experience for all participating students.
Institutional Commitment
This site visit demonstrates the department’s ongoing dedication to:
• Bridging theoretical knowledge with practical application
• Promoting active learning through technical exposure
• Fostering professional development among engineering students
• Preparing students for successful careers in civil and structural engineering
