4th National Innovations Competition in Engineering (NICE2018)
Tishk International University held 4th National Innovations Competition in Engineering (NICE2018) on May 06, 2018, under the theme of “Targeting Smart Sustainable Innovations.” Dr. Idris Hadi Salih Head of Board of Trustees and President of Tishk International University, Prof. Dr. Abduladhem Abdulkareem Ali ACM-Iraq Chapter Chair, Assist. Prof. Dr. Ali Ahmed Abed ACM-Iraq Chapter vice Chair, Prof. Dr. Omar Qarani borad member of ACI Iraq Chapter, Deans, and Heads of Departments of the universities that participated honored the Hosts with their presence.
NICE (National Innovations Competition in Engineering) is a groundbreaking Engineering competition open to higher education students in Kurdistan Region. Project competition was held in six different categories: Computer Science and Engineering, Civil Engineering, Interior Design, and Architecture Engineering.
There is, as well, one more category as Pasta Bridge (Spaghetti Bridge). The competition aims to explore the ability of the students and provide a platform for the students to present their projects to the markets and exchange ideas on the developments in the field of engineering.
More than 150 projects were presented by 400 students. More than 60 precious jury members evaluated these projects and selected the winners. The organization provided students with a chance to establish communication with each other to discuss their current work as well as to be encouraged in future projects. The competition was held among twenty different institutes and universities of Kurdistan and Iraq as follows:
