On the 9th of December, 2021, the Department of Surveying and Geomatics organized an internal seminar intended for staff, under the title “Drones in Construction”, presented by Assist Professor Qubad Zeki Henari “. The presentation discussed UAV Drones and their roles in Construction. Benefits of using drones in monitoring construction projects, explaining its role in fast, reproducible accurate, comprehensive, and cost and time-saving fields of applications of drones were explained in planning design, and execution of projects.

4th Grade Presentations On the 5th of December, Mr. Mohammad Qader, Lecturer in SGE Department at Tishk International University, organized a presentation session for 4th-grade students under the title "Search a Study". The purpose of this session was to allow students to present on two topic courses: Highway Engineering and Engineering Economics. The students introduced their reports and studies based on the topics that have interested them during the fall semester of the academic year 2021-2022. On March 10th, 2021, second-grade students of our department,  under the supervision of Mr. Rozh Ismael and Mrs. Hana Cheto visited the Director of Planning and Developments of the Ministry of Municipalities and Tourism. The students were received by Mrs. Shukria Abbas Qadir, Director of Urban Planning. GIS Department and Surveying Department presented a seminar in which cadastral works and land law, GIS and GPS applications, their role, and the importance of cadastral were explained and discussed.

On 11th of January,2021, the Department of Surveying and Geomatics conducted an internal seminar under the title “RTK and RTK Network ” , presented by Rozh Ismael “Assistant Lecturer”. The seminar discussed RTK and RTK network survey methods, the differences between them, and benefits of the two techniques in surveying projects. GNSS survey methods have a wide range of use in surveying engineering, therefore it is important for our staff to be more familiar with the methods of GNSS surveying as well as the new techniques and technologies currently available.
