3rd Grade Scientific Trip to Museum of Education Erbil
On Sunday, October 29th, 2023, the Interior Design Department, Faculty of Engineering at Tishk International University (TIU) organized a scientific trip for 3rd grade students to Tajil, Khanaqa, Bazar, and to the Museum of Education in Erbil, in relation to their Conservation Course, under the supervision of the Dr. Omer Abdulwahab.
The primary objective of the trip was to emphasize key aspects of old historical structures, focusing on dimensions relative to human scale, spacing, colour palettes, accessories, and other intricate design details. Upon arrival, the lecturer warmly welcomed the students and organized a comprehensive tour of the entire area, showcasing various sections within neighbourhoods. Throughout the tour, the lecturers provided in-depth explanations of the essential design elements, highlighting both positive and negative aspects of design conservation.
To enhance their learning experience, students were encouraged to capture photos and gather information for the purpose of preparing a detailed report. This hands-on approach allowed students to acquire practical skills in taking as-built measurements and comprehend how design considerations vary based on user needs.
