Social Community Project: Ishik Kindergarten

In collaboration with the Dean of Students at Tishk International University, the Interior Design Department, Faculty of Engineering, implemented a Social Community Project by organizing a two-day Art Workshop for Ishik Kindergarten, held on May 23rd and 24th, 2023. The primary objective of this visit was to align with the kindergarten’s vision and contribute to the educational development of young children by nurturing their understanding of art, crafts, and design.

During the workshop, the department meticulously prepared special gifts for each child, and they brought along essential materials such as cutters, scissors, paints, coloured pencils, and paper. These materials were carefully selected to encourage the concept of recycling and the utilization of different shapes derived from recycled materials. Volunteer Research Assistants and dedicated students enthusiastically engaged with the children, offering guidance in paper painting and creating small origami shapes.

The workshop provided a nurturing environment where children could not only have an enjoyable time but also develop valuable skills in handling shapes and expressing themselves through simplified polygons and letters. Through these artistic endeavours, the children were able to expand their creative horizons and cultivate a deeper appreciation for the world of art and design.

The Interior Design Department remains committed to organizing future workshops that encompass a diverse range of artistic disciplines, including sculpting and languages. These initiatives serve as a testament to our department’s dedication to fulfilling our societal responsibilities, particularly in reaching out to disadvantaged communities and orphanages. By providing opportunities for artistic exploration and cultural enrichment, we strive to make a positive impact and contribute to the holistic development of individuals within our society.
