On Monday, May 12th, 2025, the Interior Design Department at Tishk International University hosted an insightful seminar titled “The Language of Color: Communicating Emotions and Function Through Interior Design,” presented by Mrs. Faeza Bakr.
The seminar delved into the powerful role color plays in interior design, exploring how it can be used not only to enhance aesthetic appeal but also to communicate emotions and influence the functionality of a space. Mrs. Bakr shared her expert knowledge on how different colors can evoke specific feelings, from warmth and comfort to calmness and energy, and how these emotions can be leveraged to create purposeful, effective environments.
Attended by students, faculty, and design professionals, the seminar sparked engaging discussions about the psychological effects of color, offering practical insights into choosing the right hues to shape experiences within interior spaces. The session inspired participants to view color not just as a design tool, but as a language in itself—one that speaks to the senses and impacts how we feel and interact with our surroundings.
