On February 9, 2025, the Interior Design Department at the Faculty of Engineering, Tishk International University, organized a scientific trip for second-year students to Juniors Early Childhood Education Center as part of their Interior Design Studio Course. The trip was supervised by faculty members Ms. Faiza BakirMrs. JannahMrs. Aya Shukri, and Research Assistant Sara Mahmood.

The primary objective of the trip was to provide students with a hands-on learning experience by observing the kindergarten’s main zones, including the classrooms, playing area, reception, and other related spaces. The tour emphasized furniture distribution, dimensions based on children’s sizes, spacing, color palettes, accessories, and other design details that enhance the learning and playing environment for children.

The management team at Juniors warmly welcomed the staff and students and arranged a comprehensive tour of the building. Throughout the tour, the lecturers explained the main design points, dimensions, and positive and negative aspects of the design to the students.

During the scientific trip, students were required to take photos and gather information to prepare a detailed report. They were also taught how to take as-built measurements and understand the differences in design depending on the users’ needs. Finally, students were asked to draw conclusions about what they learned through the trip based on their observations and the teachers’ explanations.
