On May 27, 2025, the Interior Design Department at Tishk International University (TIU) hosted a dynamic and educational Moodboard Creation Workshop in collaboration with Betwin Company. This event was part of the department’s ongoing efforts to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical application and expose students to industry-standard design practices.
The workshop commenced with an insightful presentation delivered by representatives from Betwin Company, focusing on the fundamental principles of moodboard development, including visual storytelling, thematic cohesion, color psychology, and material selection. Students were introduced to the conceptual role moodboards play in the early stages of the design process, serving as an essential tool for articulating and communicating creative ideas.
Following the presentation, students engaged in a hands-on session where they applied the concepts discussed using a wide variety of real-world materials, textures, and color palettes. This practical exercise allowed participants to explore the sensory and emotional impact of design elements while experimenting with composition, layout, and narrative cohesion. The interactive format fostered critical thinking, creativity, and collaborative problem-solving—skills essential for any aspiring interior designer.
The workshop was not only a valuable learning experience but also a professional development opportunity, providing students with direct exposure to the methodologies and workflows employed in contemporary design practice. It highlighted the significance of moodboards as a bridge between ideation and execution, enabling designers to present cohesive and compelling visual narratives to clients and stakeholders.
We extend our sincere appreciation to Betwin Company for their time, commitment, and generous contribution of materials and expertise. Their support played a vital role in the success of the workshop and significantly enriched the educational experience of our students.
This event stands as a testament to the Interior Design Department’s dedication to experiential learning and its commitment to cultivating the next generation of creative professionals.
