On June 1, 2025, Tishk International University proudly hosted its first Interior Design Exhibition titled “Where Lines Meet – Crafting Identity Through Design,” held at the Main Building Reception. The exhibition presented final projects by Interior Design students, showcasing beautifully handcrafted furniture made from cardboard and sustainable materials, freehand sketches, and calligraphy-infused design works.

Under the supervision of Mrs. Faeza Bakir and Ms. Sara Mahmood, students of the Furniture Design course crafted functional and aesthetically innovative pieces that demonstrated their skills in material manipulation, design thinking, and eco-conscious creativity. Simultaneously, the Calligraphy in Interior Design course, supervised by Mrs. Rawaz Najmaddin and Miss Aysha Rashid, featured student projects that beautifully blended traditional Arabic and Kurdish calligraphy with modern interior design elements, celebrating both artistic expression and cultural heritage.

The exhibition began at 11:30 AM and continued until 4:00 PM, officially opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by high-level university officials, including Dr. Idris Hadi (Head of the Board of Trustees), Prof. Dr. Sultan Abu Orabi (President of TIU), the university vice presidents, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, department heads, and professors. Their presence highlighted TIU’s ongoing commitment to practical and creative learning experiences.

Faculty, students, and visitors alike expressed great admiration for the originality, effort, and craftsmanship of the works on display, with the event drawing considerable attention and appreciation throughout the day. The exhibition left a strong impression on all attendees and marked a proud milestone in the growing success of the Interior Design program at TIU.
