On June 3, 2025, Tishk International University hosted a comprehensive and engaging seminar titled “Environmental Ethics and the Foundations of Sustainability,” organized by the Interior Design Department and presented by Miss Aysha Rashid.
The seminar offered a deep exploration into the ethical dimensions of design, emphasizing the vital need for sustainability to be more than just a trend—it must be a guiding principle in every creative and professional decision. Miss Rashid addressed the growing environmental challenges facing the world today and highlighted the essential role that design plays in either contributing to or mitigating these issues. She discussed the responsibilities of designers in shaping built environments that not only meet functional and aesthetic standards but also minimize harm to the planet and promote ecological balance.
The presentation also covered key topics such as material selection, energy efficiency, waste reduction, and the lifecycle of design elements. By drawing connections between ethical awareness and sustainable practices, the seminar encouraged a shift toward more thoughtful and responsible approaches within the field of interior design.
