On February 18th, 2025, the Interior Design Department, Faculty of Engineering at Tishk International University (TIU), organized a site trip for 4th-stage students to a villa in Empire Royal City as part of their Interior Design special topics Course. The trip was supervised by faculty members Mrs. Aseel and Mr. Hawkar.
The site visit was an enriching experience that gave students a deeper understanding of how design principles are applied in real-world spaces. As they toured the villa, they observed the meticulous attention to detail in every room, from the carefully selected color palettes to the strategic use of lighting and textures. It was interesting for them to see how the design was tailored to enhance both comfort and functionality while maintaining a luxurious aesthetic.
The open-plan living areas, with their spacious layouts, balanced natural light, and high-quality materials, demonstrated how interior design can create a harmonious environment. They also noted how different design elements, such as furniture placement, decor, and architectural features, contributed to the overall atmosphere and flow of the space. This visit was an invaluable hands-on learning experience, providing the students with a fresh perspective on the creative processes involved in designing a home and how interior designers consider various factors such as client needs, budget, and space optimization when developing their concepts.
