On October 9th, 2024, the Interior Design Department, Faculty of Engineering at Tishk International University (TIU) prepared a scientific trip for 4th grade students to Maryamana Hospital, as part of their Interior Design Studio VI Course, held under the supervision of Lecturers: Mrs. Aya Shukri  and Mrs. Aseel alhusainat, Mr. Sulaiman Mustafa and Research Assistants Ms. Snoor Abbas.

The primary objective of the trip was to closely examine key areas within various departments of the hospital, particularly the Cosmetic Department, NICU, Emergency, Eye Department, and Cardiovascular Department, focusing on aspects such as furniture distribution, dimensions relative to human scale, spatial arrangement, color palettes, accessories, and other design intricacies.

Upon arrival, the site managers warmly welcomed both staff and students, guiding them on a comprehensive tour of the entire hospital and providing insights into different areas. The lecturers accompanying the students elaborated on crucial design elements, emphasizing dimensions, and discussing the merits and challenges of the designs.

Students actively engaged in the trip, capturing photographs and gathering information essential for preparing a detailed report. The experience enabled them to acquire skills in as-built measurements and deepen their understanding of how design considerations vary based on user requirements.
