International Workshop: Math Tricks for Rapid Calculation
On May 23rd, 2024, the Surveying and Geomatics Department, Faculty of Engineering at Tishk International University (TIU) in Erbil, Iraq, organized an International Workshop on Math Tricks for Rapid Calculation, presented by Professor Dr. Tariq from Tishk International University and Mrs.Shahla H. Karim from The University of Sheffield UK.
The workshop concentrated on mathematical strategies that facilitate the rapid and efficient execution of calculations. This information is essential for the purpose of ensuring that calculations are accurate and for efficiently teaching. It is also applicable in everyday life, such as in the exchange of money and the conversion of units.
Sessions List
Session One: This session delved into the history of computation and counting, as well as a concise account of the development of computers.
Session Two: This session was devoted to the use of shortcuts, tricks, and magic methods in mathematical operations.
