Academic Trip To Director of Planning and Developments of Ministry of Municipalities and Tourism

On November 28, 2019, second-grade students of our department visited the Director of Planning and Developments of the Ministry of Municipalities and Tourism, our students received by Mr. Bakhtyar Sherif, Director of the Urban Planning. GIS department and Surveying Techniques Department presented a seminar about cadastral works and land law, GIS and GPS applications, their role, and the importance of cadastral explained and discussed.

On 20th of November, Our department fulfilled their internal seminar under the title “GNSS, and its role in contraction Surveying ” for Staff, the seminar presented by Rozh Ismael “Assistant Lecturer”. the seminar was about,GNSS Surveying methods, the advantages and limitations in construction. Surveying and Geomatics Engineering Department of Tishk International University arranges a scientific trip for it’s a student to visit the Geomatics Engineering department of the engineering college at Salahaddin University on Sunday 17/11/2019 11:00 AM. Our students received by the head of department and lecturers, among them Dr. Haval Abduljabar, Assist prof. Dr.Mohammed Anwer Mr. Rozhgar Qarani and Mr.Bakhtyar Mala, they are trying to explain the role of geomatics engineering in the development and new technologies such as GPS, Total station, Laser Scanners, in addition, they visited photogrammetry, Remote Sensing, and GIS laboratories, they were informed widely about operations and output of these Labs.

Prof. Qubad Zeki Henari “Head of Department of Surveying and Geomatics Engineering”. the seminar was about, how the vertical datum is established, explaining the main three surface Topographic, Geoid and splendid, and how the mean sea level in determined using tide gauges. Surveying and Geomatics Engineering Dept. Participated in 4th National Innovations Competition in Engineering (NICE 2018) on May 06, 2018, under the theme of “Targeting Smart Sustainable Innovations.” Our Department stated a brief explanation of the mission and vision of this new department to the visitors, and the outcome of the four studies period. The department exhibited latest versions of instruments such as Digital Levels GPS, Total Stations and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), explaining the role of each of these instruments in modern Surveying and Geomatics Engineering.
