On 17th of May, Our department arranged a seminar for the students under the title “ Vertical Datum”, the seminar presented by Assist. Prof. Qubad Zeki Henari “Head of Department of Surveying and Geomatics Engineering”. the seminar was about, how the vertical datum is established, explaining the main three surface Topographic, Geoid and splendid, and how the mean sea level in determined using tide gauges. The seminar was Leaser Scanning applications in the field of engineering and explained the operational principles, types, capabilities, processing required data and the outputs. Surveying and Geomatics Engineering Dept. Participated in 4th National Innovations Competition in Engineering (NICE 2018) on May 06, 2018, under the theme of “Targeting Smart Sustainable Innovations.” Our Department stated a brief explanation of the mission and vision of this new department to the visitors, and the outcome of the four studies period. The department exhibited latest versions of instruments such as Digital Levels GPS, Total Stations and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), explaining the role of each of these instruments in modern Surveying and Geomatics Engineering. From 22nd – 23rd of April 2018, Surveying and Geomatics Engineering Department organized a training program of Title (Application of Digital Levels in height determination) for their academic lecturers and research Assistants under the supervision Asst. Prof. Qubad Zeki “Head of Surveying and Geomatics Engineering”. The first day of training started with a presentation by Asst. Prof. Qubad Zeki brief about Digital Levels instrument and its operation system.
