On Thursday, 15 January 2026, a scientific delegation from the Faculty of Engineering at Tishk International University paid an official visit to the College of Engineering at Koya University as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen inter-university academic collaboration.

The delegation was formally received by Prof. Dr. Gelawêj Bakr Babir, Dean of the College of Engineering, together with Mr. Shwan Ibrahim, Head of the Architecture Engineering Department, Prof. Dr. Sahar Basil Mahmoud, and Dr. Wezha Hawêz. The meeting reflected a shared commitment to advancing cooperation in architecture, interior design, and engineering education and research.

During the visit, both sides reviewed the current progress of ICAD2026, focusing on scientific and organizing committee coordination, keynote invitations, paper submission and review timelines, and overall conference logistics. The conference, entitled International Conference on Architecture & Interior Design (ICAD2026) – Change and Resilience in the 21st Century, is scheduled to be held on 29–30 April 2026 and aims to bring together academics, researchers, and professionals to address contemporary challenges and resilient design approaches in architecture and interior design.

The delegation from Tishk International University was headed by Dr. Safwan Mawlood Hussein, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and included Mr. Sheno Abdullah Mamand, Head of the Architecture Engineering Department, Mr. Dalman Aziz Mohammed, Head of the Interior Design Department, and Mr. Nawaz Nazim Dabagh, Lecturer in the Architecture Engineering Department and Co-Chair of ICAD2026, in addition to Sara Mahmood and Rwanga Ameer, who also contributed to the academic discussions related to the conference’s scientific progress and collaborative framework.

The meeting concluded with a mutual reaffirmation of commitment from both institutions to sustain academic partnership through joint conferences, collaborative research initiatives, and faculty engagement, underscoring the role of ICAD2026 as a platform for regional and international academic exchange.
