TIU Hosts the 6th International Festival of Language, Culture, and Science

On March 8th, 2023, students from the Aviation Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering at Tishk International University (TIU), represented Jordan at the 6th International Spring Festival hosted by TIU, showcasing the country’s diverse history and traditions. The festival was centred around the theme of Women’s Empowerment, aimed to inspire and celebrate the achievements of women, and provide a platform for networking, education, and collaboration. It also aimed to foster community engagement and encourage collective efforts towards empowering women and creating a more inclusive society.

The Aviation Engineering Department participated in the festival by setting up a tent on Jordanian culture, such as country-specific information and customs and traditions. Jordanian cuisine was also displayed and distributed to all festival attendees. In the backdrop, Jordanian music was also playing. This year’s spring festivals included various activities and attractions, live music, food vendors, carnival games, and art exhibits.

Jordan is a country located in the Middle East that has a rich cultural heritage. The people of Jordan are known for their hospitality, and visitors can expect to be warmly welcomed and treated with respect.
Jordanian culture is influenced by various civilizations and empires that inhabited the region over the centuries. The country’s architecture, art, music, and cuisine all reflect this diverse heritage.

Regarding cuisine, Jordanian food is characterized by its use of fresh, locally sourced ingredients and bold spices. Some popular dishes include mansaf, a rice dish served with lamb and yoghurt, and maqluba, a layered dish of rice, meat, and vegetable). The festival also provided an opportunity for student organizations and local businesses to showcase their products and services.

This year, the spring festival served as a platform for fundraising and raising awareness for women’s empowerment. In addition to providing a fun and festive atmosphere, the spring festival also provided a way to promote university spirit and community involvement. At TIU, we take great pride in the women of our region and recognize and celebrate the progress made toward achieving gender equality and advocating for further advancements. TIU values the contributions of women in all aspects of society and strives to create a world where women have equal opportunities and rights. We aim to create a world where women can thrive and achieve their full potential.
