Academic Years 2024-2025

Tishk International University, Aviation Engineering Department, releases the theses and Projects for 4th-grade students for the academic year 2024-2025.

Group 1

Title of the ProjectDesign and Performance Analysis for a Bladeless Drone for Search Operation on Triphibian Terrains.
Names Of Students Yasin Kamaran Ali
Name of Supervisor Prof. Dr. Abdulateef Jadallah
The Abstract of the ProjectAn X-shaped bladeless drone is envisioned for search operations on land, water, and air (triphibean terrain). The design is inspired by Dyson-style ducted fans (air multiplier) combined with amphibious hovercraft principles. It uses four internal ducted thrusters (no exposed blades) to push air downward and draw ambient air through the ring-shaped nozzles. A 3D printed X-frame (shown in Fig. 1) houses these thrusters at each arm, enabling vertical lift, forward flight, or hovercraft mode. Hybrid locomotion is achieved via an inflatable skirt and floatation elements: On water or land, the skirt traps a cushion of air (like a hovercraft) for buoyancy and ground effect. Key motivations include safety (no spinning blades) and versatile mobility for rapid search-and-rescue, as drones drastically reduce response time in remote or flood-hit areas.

Group 2

Title of the ProjectAI-Powered Flight Navigation System for UAVs.
Names of Students Taha Abdullah Burhan
Name of Supervisor Dr. Qaysar Mahdi Salih
The Abstract of the ProjectThe concept for the project is an AI-powered flight navigation system for UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles). The focus is on how artificial intelligence can enhance autonomous navigation, especially using the DJI Neo drone as my main hardware platform.

Group 3

Title of the ProjectStudy, Design, and Construction of a Retractable Electric Landing Gear.
Names of Students Muhammed Abdulkhalq
Name of SupervisorAssist. Prof. Dr. Soorkeu A. Atrooshi
The Abstract of the ProjectThis project involves the study, design, and construction of a retractable electric landing gear to replace traditional hydraulic systems. It aims to create a lighter, more efficient, and environmentally friendly alternative by using electric actuators and modern control systems.
