On September 17th, 2025, the Aviation Engineering Department at Tishk International University hosted an informational event for prospective students, offering comprehensive insights into the aviation engineering program and university facilities. The event began with a warm welcome from the aviation department staff, followed by an opening presentation by Dr. Soorkeu A. Atrooshi, the Department Head, who provided an overview of the program and curriculum details.

An interactive session was then held that included a Kahoot question game engaging prospective students, interactive learning about aviation engineering concepts, and an educational activity testing aviation knowledge. Afterwards, a campus tour was conducted, featuring a guided exploration of department laboratories, an overview of the facilities showcasing technical resources, and an infrastructure demonstration. The event concluded with a Q&A session where students had the opportunity to ask questions about the program, receive detailed information about admission requirements, and discuss career prospects in aviation.

This event provided prospective students with a comprehensive understanding of the aviation engineering program, direct interaction with faculty and staff, insight into laboratory facilities and resources, and information about career opportunities in aviation. The department successfully introduced prospective students to the exciting field of aviation engineering through this engaging and informative event.

The Aviation Engineering Department, for the second time, on 5th November 2025, invited members of the interested STEM community, including students and parents with a passion for aviation and a private pilot’s license, to a lighthearted activity that included a presentation, an exchange of ideas, and a Q&A session.
There were refreshments, conversations, and open dialogue on matters related to how a BSc degree in Aviation Engineering can enhance the chances for a successful application to a PPL license. The event included a meaningful discussion of the challenges in the PPL process, including the commonalities between Aviation Engineering and the PPL ground school requirements.
It also extended to the added value from going for a double achievement, combining a BSc in Aviation Engineering with the PPL license. There were examples from the International Flight Schools, and the presentation touched down softly with the department’s suggestions for a plan of action for the interested attendees
