A delegation from the Faculty of Engineering at Tishk International University – Erbil Campus visited both the TIU Sulaymaniyah Branch and the College of Engineering at the University of Sulaimani to discuss future academic collaboration and strengthen cooperation between the engineering departments.
The delegation was headed by Dr. Safwan Mawlood Hussein, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and included Dr. Berham Haydar, Head of the Civil Engineering Department; Mr. Musa Masoud, Head of the Computer Engineering Department; Mr. Sivar Azeez, Dean of Student Representative of the Faculty of Engineering and Dr. Mohammed Abdulghani, Dean of Students.
At the University of Sulaimani, the delegation was received by Prof. Serwan Khorsheed Rafiq, Dean of the College of Engineering, together with several department heads and academic representatives. At TIU Sulaymaniyah Branch, the delegation met with Dr. Mustafa Mukhlis, Dean; Dr. Mohammed Abubakir, Head of the Computer Engineering Department; Mr. Shallaw Abdullah Salih, Head of the Civil Engineering Department; and Mr. Shayan Al Zangana, Head of the Architecture Department.
During the visits, the delegation explored the engineering laboratories and facilities and held productive meetings regarding joint activities, exchange of expertise, future cooperation opportunities, and engineering projects that support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The discussions also included future plans and collaboration opportunities for the upcoming 12th International Engineering Conference (IEC 2027) and the 6th International Conference on Architecture and Design (ICAD 2027), encouraging academic participation, joint research activities, and institutional cooperation.
The visits highlight TIU’s commitment to strengthening academic partnerships and supporting continuous development in engineering education, research, and sustainability initiatives.
