On <\/span>October 16, 2024<\/span><\/strong>, the <\/span>Petroleum and Mining Engineering Department<\/span><\/strong> at Tishk International University (TIU) organized a <\/span>Welcome Back Ceremony<\/span><\/strong> for its students. This event was held in cooperation with the <\/span>Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) TIU Chapter<\/span><\/strong> and the <\/span>Dean of Students at TIU<\/span><\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ceremony Highlights<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

The ceremony began with a welcome speech by the <\/span>Head of the Department<\/span><\/strong>, who encouraged students to strive for excellence during the academic year and aim to become top performers. A major highlight was the proud announcement that the Petroleum and Mining Engineering Department had recently achieved accreditation from <\/span>ASIIN<\/span><\/strong>, a prestigious European accreditation agency. With this accomplishment, the department is now recognized as a <\/span>European-accredited department<\/span><\/strong>, ensuring international academic standards.<\/span><\/p>\n

Following this, a staff member from the <\/span>Dean of Students<\/span><\/strong> gave a presentation showcasing the various student activities and initiatives organized by their office. The presentation emphasized the importance of participating in these activities and engaging with the university’s student clubs for personal and academic growth.<\/span><\/p>\n

Recognizing Excellence<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

The final part of the ceremony involved recognizing and appreciating the top-performing students from each grade. The academic advisors for each grade were invited to the stage to present appreciation letters to their respective top students, applauding their hard work and dedication.<\/span><\/p>\n

The event concluded with the ceremonial cutting of the New Year\u2019s cake, which was enjoyed by all the department\u2019s staff and students, marking the beginning of an exciting and successful academic year.<\/span><\/p>\n
