A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was previously signed between Tishk International University TIU and Entrac Petroleum Ltd EPL: a well-known consultancy and petroleum training provider based in London.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to the MOU signed, the first training session entitled \u201cIWCF and IADC\/Well Control\u201d took place at the premises of Tishk International University, on 25th<\/sup>\u00a0April 2021 and was completed successfully.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Eleven participants from different oil companies and fields in the Kurdistan Region joined the training course. The training session was provided by EPL instructors, headed by Engineer Ayad Abduazeez Kadhim, and included detailed lectures covering the basic background of oil well drilling and well control, followed by a practical session on the drilling simulator which was installed at the petroleum fluid properties laboratory of the Petroleum & Mining Engineering Department-TIU. The final activity was a comprehensive online test which was conducted in the Computer Engineering Department Programming Laboratory, under the invigilation of two third-party inspectors from both IWCF (International Well Control Forum) and IADC (International Association of Drilling Contractors) accrediting institutions.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Remarkably, all 11 participants passed the examinations with high grades, indicating the efficiency and quality of the training course, and proving the effectiveness of the program.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Professor, Dr. Hamed M. Jassim from the Department of Petroleum & Mining Engineering at TIU provided full assistance and logistic support to this training course. The collaboration between TIU and an international training and consultation company is a very crucial step for the development of the University.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n
