4th National Innovations Competition in Engineering (NICE2018).

On May 06, 2018 Tishk International University held 4th National Innovations Competition in Engineering (NICE2018), under the theme of “Targeting Smart Sustainable Innovations.”

Dr. Idris Hadi Salih Head of Board of Trustees and President of Tishk International University opened the event and warmly welcomed the guests and the participants.

NICE (National Innovations Competition in Engineering) is an Engineering competition open to higher education students in Kurdistan Region. Project competition was held in different categories: Computer Science and Engineering, Civil Engineering, Interior Design, and Architecture Engineering.

There is, as well, one more category as Pasta Bridge (Spaghetti Bridge). The competition aims to explore the ability of the students and provide a platform for the students to present their projects and feel the practical side of their theoretical background. Various universities participated with various ideas in theory, practice in which the sustainability of engineering applications were dominant over the participating projects. This was interesting since the topic is considered internationally with top priority.

More than 150 projects were presented by 400 students from twenty different institutes and universities of Kurdistan and Iraq, More than 60 well-known jury members evaluated these projects and selected the top three winners. The participated students from different universities enjoyed direct communication with each other to discuss their current work as well as to be encouraged in future projects.
