On December 14th, 2022, fourth-year students from the Department of Mechatronics,\u00a0<\/span>Faculty of Engineering<\/span><\/a>\u00a0at\u00a0<\/span>Tishk International University<\/span><\/a>\u00a0embarked on an educational field trip to the Deralok Hydropower Station. This excursion was organized as part of the Renewable Energy Course the department’s curriculum, providing the students with valuable hands-on experience and exposure to real-world applications of their studies.<\/span><\/p>\n The visit was supervised by a team of esteemed faculty members, including Mr. Ahmed Ameer, Mr. Qusay Hamid, and Mr. Ahmed Haval. Their guidance and expertise ensured a productive and engaging learning experience for the students. Throughout the day, the students had the opportunity to observe and analyze various aspects of the hydropower station’s operations, including its infrastructure, power generation processes, and environmental impacts.<\/span><\/p>\n The Deralok Hydropower Station serves as an excellent example of renewable energy in action, showcasing the potential for sustainable power generation and the importance of reducing our reliance on fossil fuels. By visiting the facility, the students gained valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities associated with implementing clean energy solutions, as well as the technical and engineering principles underpinning their design and construction.<\/span><\/p>\n In addition to fostering a deeper understanding of renewable energy technologies, the field trip also encouraged collaboration and teamwork among the students. They were able to discuss their observations and findings with each other, as well as with their supervising faculty members, fostering a sense of camaraderie and intellectual curiosity.<\/span><\/p>\n As the trip came to an end and the students made their way back to Erbil, they stopped for a group dinner at Qalya Akre. This enjoyable meal served as the perfect opportunity for the students to unwind, reflect on their experience at the hydropower station, and further strengthen their bonds with one another.<\/span><\/p>\n The visit to the Deralok Hydropower Station was a highly enriching and informative experience for the fourth-year students, as it provided them with an opportunity to apply their academic knowledge to a real-world setting, broadening their perspectives on renewable energy and its role in shaping a more sustainable future.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\t\t
