On <\/span>October 9, 2024<\/span><\/strong>, second-grade students from the <\/span>Interior Design Department<\/span><\/strong>, Faculty of Engineering at <\/span>Tishk International University (TIU)<\/span><\/strong>, went on a scientific trip to a villa in Erbil city. The trip was a practical component of their <\/span>Interior Design Studio II Course<\/span><\/strong> and was supervised by Lecturer Mr. Rebwar Abubakir and Research Assistant Ms. Sara Mahmood.<\/span><\/p>\n

The main objective of the trip was to help students focus on key zones within residential buildings, specifically villa design. They paid special attention to critical areas like bedrooms, living rooms, kitchens, and bathrooms. They analyzed furniture distribution, dimensions relative to human scale, spatial arrangement, color palettes, and other important design details. The supervisors guided the students throughout the tour, elaborating on crucial design points and discussing both the positive and negative aspects of the design.<\/span><\/p>\n

Students were encouraged to document their observations through photography and note-taking, which will serve as essential resources for their upcoming reports. The field trip also gave them valuable experience in as-built measurements and improved their ability to assess residential design from a professional perspective. Overall, the trip was a vital step in helping the students bridge the gap between academic learning and practical application, enriching their understanding of interior design in a tangible context.<\/span><\/p>\n
