Exhibition on Lightweight Structure<\/h4>\n

On November 28-29th, 2023, the Department of Interior Design,<\/a>\u00a0Faculty of Engineering<\/a>\u00a0at\u00a0Tishk International University (TIU)<\/a>\u00a0organized an exhibition on Lightweight Structure Exhibition.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The exhibition showcased innovative constructions based on straight lines, exploring the fundamental elements of shapes: line and plane. Emphasizing spherical geometry guided by positive-curved lines and hyperbolic geometry by negative curves, the exhibition delved into “Form Finding” – a method of exploring shapes beyond traditional compositional and static constraints.<\/p>\n

Over two days, Prof. Sabah Shawkat highlighted the tensegrity concept within structures, discussing how to design based on elemental forces. The exhibition, focusing on lightweight design, demonstrated the complexity of creating models in various forms and sizes. Students and staff created physical models, showcasing the versatility and aesthetic appeal of lightweight elements in interior design and exploring structural morphology.<\/p>\n
