In aims of providing a platform for the Computer Engineering department students to improve and demonstrate their problem solving and programming skills, the department hosted the 1st<\/sup> \u201cBlind Coding Challenge\u201d<\/strong> coding competition annually among its undergraduate students on Thursday, May 2nd<\/sup>, 2019<\/strong> in Programming Lab #241 with the participation of 24<\/strong> students.<\/p>\n

The Blind Coding Challenge is an individual and fun challenge which is targeting the students from Computer Engineering and IT department of all grades.<\/p>\n

This competition not only aims to improve and enhance the students\u2019 programming knowledge but also improve their speed, accuracy and efficiency in solving these challenging programming statements.<\/p>\n

Participants were given four programming problems of varied difficulties to solve without a compiler and within a limited time frame of 2 hours and 30 minutes for each problem. These programming problems were solved by using either (Java or C++) programming languages. Careful analysis and application of algorithms taught in undergraduate studies were an aid for the students in solving these problems.<\/p>\n

Winners were decided upon certain judging criteria and an awarding ceremony was held on May, 21st<\/sup> <\/strong>where the participants received gift packs and certificates and the top 3 ranked students were announced and received their awards.<\/p>\n

Winners for the 1st<\/sup> edition of Blind Coding Challenge are as follows:<\/p>\n

1st<\/sup> Place:<\/strong> Islam Abdulaziz, 3rd<\/sup> Grade, IT Department<\/strong><\/p>\n

2nd<\/sup> Place: Firdaus Azad, 1st<\/sup> Grade, Computer Engineering Department<\/strong><\/p>\n

3rd<\/sup> Place: Hasna\u2019 Alaa, 2nd<\/sup> Grade, Computer Engineering Department<\/strong><\/p>\n

The department of Computer Engineering congratulates all the winners and participants alike for their participation and for making the event a great success and looks forward to expanding the competition reach among the nationally located universities of Kurdistan as a branded Tishk International University based Competition for the editions to come.<\/p>\n
