Brief Description<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 4th<\/sup> National Innovation Competition in Engineering (NICE2018) which is organized annually by Tishk International University\u2019s Engineering Faculty was held on Sunday, 6th<\/sup> of May under the theme of \u201cTargeting Smart Sustainable Innovations\u201d.<\/p>\n

NICE (National Innovation Competition in Engineering) is an annual competition where undergraduate students from Kurdistan and Iraq can showcase their innovative and sustainable solutions to the most pressing challenges facing the region. The competition aims to explore the ability of the students and provide a platform for the students to present their projects to the markets and exchange ideas on the developments in the field of engineering.<\/p>\n

The competition was held in 5 different categories and for this year\u2019s edition, Computer Science and Engineering category had the highest participation rate with more than 80 projects ranging from Hardware to software projects, with 19 projects from Computer Engineering department.<\/p>\n

The competition started at 10:00 AM with the opening ceremony and a speech given by CEES ACM Iraq\u2019s chapter manager, Dr. Abdulatheem Abdulkarim. Speaking about the association mission and vision and its aim to bring together computing educators, researchers, and professionals to share resources, and address the field\u2019s challenges. At around 11:00 AM, the projects were demonstrated to NICE2018 jury to be evaluated. The winners for this year\u2019s Software Category were a group of 4th<\/sup> year students consisting of 4 team members namely (Rawa Dlshad, Blnd Nariman, Bzwen Tahir and Zainab Abdullah) with their project titled \u201cDigital Medical Transcript\u201d which is supervised by Dr. Selcuk Cankurt. Whereas the winners for Hardware Category were a group of students from Tishk International University \/ Sulaimani. Below is the list of the 1st<\/sup>, 2nd<\/sup> and 3rd<\/sup> place winners from both Hardware and Software category.<\/p>\n

Hardware category:<\/p>\n

1st<\/sup> place: \u201cAutonomous Drone\u201d \u2013 Tishk International University \/ Sulaimani<\/p>\n
