This project is a collaborative endeavour between Bauhaus-Universit\u00e4t Weimar, Tishk International University, and University of Sulaimanyah. It focuses on enhancing earthquake preparedness and mitigating risks in Iraq by assessing the vulnerability of existing buildings using the EMS-98 framework.<\/p>\n<p>Participants in the meeting included Jun.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. Lars Abrahamczyk, Mr. Peshawa Luqman, and Mr. Baban Bapir from Bauhaus-Universit\u00e4t Weimar; Mr. Halmat Muslih from Tishk International University; and Dr. Brwa Saeed from University of Sulaimanyah. During the session, the team reviewed the current progress of the project, outlined the next steps, and exchanged valuable feedback to ensure the project\u2019s successful completion.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Halmat Muslih, a faculty member of the Civil Engineering Department at Tishk International University, has been nominated to be part of this critical project. Through the DAAD-funded \u201cTa\u2019ziz Short-Term Measures 2024\u201d program, he is currently in Germany for one-month research stay at Bauhaus-Universit\u00e4t Weimar, where he is collaborating closely with project partners. During this period, Mr. Muslih participated in the first meeting, conducted under the leadership of Jun.-Prof. Dr.-Ing.
