Todays\u2019 Reader is Tomorrows\u2019 Leader
\nSocial Community Project<\/h4>\n

Duration: 4 Months<\/p>\n

In collaboration with the Dean of Students<\/a> at Tishk International University (TIU)<\/a> and Jgar Xwen High School, students from the Civil Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering<\/a> organized a social community project aimed to support Jgar Xwen High School by providing them with a bookshelf and a diverse collection of books in English, Arabic, and Kurdish. The students wanted to create a better learning environment for the students there and encourage them to read more.<\/p>\n

A food fundraising event was conducted at Tishk International University \u00a0in order to secure the necessary funds for this project. The event was a great\u00a0success, as everyone united to prepare and sell delectable cuisine. Through the generosity of our university community, students were\u00a0able to gather sufficient funds to acquire the bookshelf and a diverse selection of books. Everyone’s support for the\u00a0cause and their contributions to effect change were truly remarkable.<\/p>\n

A group of students worked diligently to select and purchase the books once the funds were available. They\u00a0ensured that the books selected were both educational and engaging for high school students. The students\u00a0transported the books to the school and neatly organised them on the bookshelf after purchasing them. It was an extremely gratifying experience for all to witness the bookshelf brimming with literature.<\/p>\n

Towards the end of the project, a\u00a0seminar was held\u00a0at Jgar Xwen High School to discuss the advantages of reading. It\u00a0elaborated on the ways in which reading can enhance one’s imagination, language skills, and knowledge. The students appeared to be enthusiastic about the new books and were exceedingly attentive. This project was an exceptional experience for the volunteering students\u00a0as they\u00a0were delighted to make a positive impact on the education and future of the students in Kawrgosk.<\/p>\n
