ACI TIU and ACI UoR Student Chapters Host Successful Egg Protection Device Competition in Erbil<\/h4>\n

The ACI TIU Student Chapter, in collaboration with the ACI UoR Student Chapter and the Civil Engineering Department,Faculty of Engineering<\/a>\u00a0at\u00a0Tishk International University (TIU)<\/a>, successfully organized the Egg Protection Device Competition in Erbil, Kurdistan, Iraq, on February 21st, 2024. This innovative event attracted 120 enthusiastic participants from nine universities across the region, including Tishk International University, Salahaddin University of Erbil (SUE)<\/a>, University of Sulaimani<\/a>, Soran University<\/a>, University of Duhok<\/a>, Erbil Polytechnic University<\/a>, and Tishk International University-Sulaimani<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The students showcased their engineering creativity by preparing 21 impressive samples for the competition. The competition aimed to foster hands-on experience and encourage innovative design in reinforced concrete. Sponsored by Khoshnaw Company, the event offered LG Brand home appliances as prizes for the top three winners. A panel of five esteemed judges from various universities meticulously evaluated the submissions. The first-place honors were shared by three outstanding groups from TIU. The second-place accolades were shared by three groups from the Salahaddin University of Erbil, University of Sulaimani, and Koya University. Finally, the third-place honours were awarded to three groups from the Koya University, Erbil Polytechnic University, and the University of Duhok.<\/p>\n

Beyond the competition itself, the event served as a valuable platform for students to develop and showcase their interdisciplinary skills, including teamwork, leadership, and networking. It provided an exceptional opportunity for participants to connect with peers from different universities, fostering collaboration and camaraderie within the engineering community. The organizers express their sincere gratitude to all participants for their dedication and ingenuity, which made the event a resounding success. Special appreciation is extended to the teaching staff of the Civil Engineering Department and the ACI TIU student chapter members for their tireless efforts in organizing and managing the competition.
