The department showcased its commitment to promoting earthquake safety and structural health monitoring through innovative exhibits, including a shaking table simulation of seismic effects on structures and several structural models prepared by third-grade students.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The first-grade students also participated in the event by preparing informative posters on the topics of seismic retrofitting of existing buildings and structural health monitoring. The aim of these activities was to raise awareness among the community about the impact of earthquakes on structures and the importance of retrofitting existing buildings to resist seismic forces and save lives.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, the students were able to showcase their skills in designing and constructing the most resistant structures against earthquakes. The activities provided a great opportunity for the students to apply their theoretical knowledge in a practical setting and gain hands-on experience in the field of civil engineering.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The event was a great success, with the community expressing their appreciation for the department&#8217;s efforts to promote earthquake safety and structural health monitoring. The students, faculty members, and visitors all enjoyed the event and gained valuable insights into the latest developments in the field of civil engineering.<\/p>\n<p>The Department of Civil Engineering at TIU wishes to extend its heartfelt appreciation to the third and first-grade students who worked tirelessly in preparing the structural models, informative posters on structural health monitoring and seismic retrofitting of existing buildings.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the department would like to extend its appreciation to the supervisors and the jury members who assessed the students&#8217; work. Their expertise and guidance were invaluable in ensuring that the students&#8217; work met the high standards expected by the department.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Overall, the Department of Civil Engineering&#8217;s participation in the Spring Festival demonstrated its commitment to promoting earthquake safety and educating the community about the importance of structural health monitoring.
